Foresta was born from a place of care with the deepest desire to change the world.

The name FORESTA comes from the word “afforest”, the act of creating a new forest in deforested land.

Our vision is to help keep traditional methods of forestry and craft possible through fair-trade that supports the environmentally conscious community of foresters and artisans we work with.

We’ve recognized a need to change the way we access the materials we use everyday, natural materials like tropical hardwoods. All-to-often, these materials are cultivated and harvested in ways that are damaging to the environment, and extremely exploitive of the communities from where they are sourced. Our mission is to change this.

We work with sustainably managed plantations in Honduras and ensure a fair wage falls back into the hands of the producers. Through FORESTA’s Timber Trade, foresters can sell directly to buyers at a fair price and in quantities which are not damaging to the lands and forests, and buyers can be assured that the wood they are purchasing comes from plantations that are ICF certified.

In 2019, we began working with a designer to develop our own products — furniture and interior accessories produced from our sustainable wood, and ethically crafted in Honduras by a small workshop near to where our timbers are grown. Each piece is hand-manufactured with a slow approach that respects the pace of the craftsmen and women we work with.

Through our designs and our organic materials, we hope to spark new conversations that center on a more conscious and thoughtful way of making, buying, and living.

we are ruled by fair-trade values, with Environmental consideration and social responsibility at the core of our ethos.
